JDCHS puts on “Noises Off”
The Performing Arts Department at Juan Diego Catholic High School, 300 East 11800 South, proudly presents the farcical comedy, “Noises Off,” Feb. 29 through March 3. A play-within-a-play, “Noises Off” shows a group of actors rehearsing their “Nothing On” play. The farce comes complete with doors slamming, mistaken identities, missed cues, misspoken lines, love triangles and an ever appearing plate of sardines.
“Noises Off” is Steve Pay’s 14 production as Director of Theatre at Juan Diego Catholic High School. Although musicals are his favorite to produce, he finds a great comical farce always a joy to work on. Pay has assembled a great cast and expects the show to rate on the same level as the most recent production of “Crazy for You.” The cast includes Jason Semadeni, Savannah Leslie, Zach Schonrock, Jonathan Omaraie, Juliet Demars, Abby Moore, Colby Hill, Matthew Illario, and Megan Tigue. Student Director is Micaela Mannix.
Curtain rises at 7 p.m. with ticket prices $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and children. This show does contain some mild sexual innuendo. It is appropriate for most audiences except, perhaps, some preteens.
