YWCA benefit on Dec. 7
“Bring Your Gifts,” a Christmas devotional through dance and music, will be held on Friday, Dec. 7 at the Historic Theater, 4961 South State Street. The show celebrates the idea that all of us have been given gifts and unique talents, and the best way to use those gifts is to help others.
In keeping with that theme, “Bring Your Gifts” is a benefit show, with 100 percent of proceeds being donated to the YWCA Salt Lake City women’s shelter. The YWCA’s shelter was the first shelter for victims of domestic abuse in Utah, and through their programs, provides many valuable services to help women heal and start healthy lives.
“Bring Your Gifts” tells the Christmas story in a brand new, visual way. The cast of award winning performers will present dance styles from around the world, including classical and modern Raqs Sharki, Hopi, Arabic folk, Irish, Polynesian, and more, to bring the Nativity story to life. In addition, the show features beautiful live performances of voice, strings, piano, and doumbek, and lush costumes. It’s the Nativity story like it’s never been told before.
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are priced at $15 for adults, 10$ for children 12 and under, and are available from 24tix.com. Tickets at the door will be $20 for adults, $15 for children 12 and under. For more information, go to www.bringyourgifts.com or email firstname.lastname@example.org
