Junkyard Zombies invading South Salt Lake
After five years out of the haunted house business, Cydney Neil, owner and producer of the world renowned Rocky Point Haunted House, has created the first ever, live, interactive laser tag game, “Junkyard Zombies.” It’s now open at 3401 South Main St. in South Salt Lake.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Rocky Point Foundation and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake. Funds will be used to complete the films documenting Neil’s 25-year journey with the Rocky Point Haunted House from beginning to end, as well as the accompanying books, website and merchandise, and at the same time, benefit the haunt’s long term partner, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake.
“Junkyard Zombies” is the first ever interactive, live game where guests have 10 minutes to wander through a junkyard set searching for zombies to shoot. The zombies are live actors, and guests are equipped with a laser tag gun that keeps score of each zombie hit. Their score is immediately recorded in the exit area and prizes are given to the winners of each round. Every customer’s name goes into a drawing for a weekly prize as well as for the grand prize at the end of the show.
It will run Tuesday through Thursday from 7 to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight, through Nov. 3 It will continue on Friday and Saturday nights after that through Dec. 1.
